SATURDAY- 19TH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME –B

Gospel: Matthew 19:13-15: Do not stop the little children coming to me: for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs.

I Reading: Ezekiel 18:1-10.13.30-32: I mean to judge each of you by what he does.

The Parable of the Lost Sheep: The Supreme Example of Caring, Mt 18:12-14

This is one the of the famous parables shared by Jesus-the parable of “The Lost Sheep” or the parable of “The Seeking Shepherd.” This holds a great message for both the believer and the unbeliever, and Jesus applies it to both. Some believers are weak, never having grown in the Lord; others cool off and wander away, still other backslide into sin and shame. The one who strays and the one who is lost are always with us (Mt 18:14).

1.     Jesus came to save the lost (v.11)

2.     Jesus seeks every single one that is lost (v.12)

a.     The sheep wandered away

b.    The sheep was sought: by the shepherd

c.      The sheep was sought: in the mountains

3.     Jesus may or may not find the lost one (v.13)

4.     Jesus forgives and rejoices over he recovered one (v.13)

5.     God wills that not s single one should be lost (14)

Thought: God cares for every single person. What a lesson for us! The concern of God for s single soul!
