SATURDAY- 31st  WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME –C

Gospel: Luke 16:9-15: If you cannot be trusted with money, that tainted thing, who will trust you with genuine riches?

I Reading: Romans 16:3-9.16.22-27: Greet each other with a holy kiss.

The Misunderstanding About Wealth and God’s Kingdom, Lk 16:14-18

Three of the greatest misunderstandings among people are covered in this passage. It  needs to be heeded by people so they can correct their misunderstanding.

1. The misunderstanding of money and possessions (v.14-15)

a. Man tends to use his possessions to justify himself

b. God knows the heart

c. God detests men who enter their esteem around money and possessions

2. The misunderstanding of the new kingdom and world or social order (v.16)

a. It is of God, not of earth

b. It is for “everyone”

3. The misunderstanding of the law (v.17-18)

a. It is not destroyed by the new kingdom

b. Marriage is an example of the unfailing law in both kingdom

Thought: All people must obey the Law of God which is fulfilled in Jesus Christ. (Mt 5:17-18; 24:35; Is 40:8)
