14th Sunday in Ordinary Year A:

Matthew 11:25-30:

Jesus praises the call and willingness of his disciples to follow him.
Jesus invites them to himself by His favorite word "Come" and to learn from him that he is the gentle and humble of heart as the true nature of God. Jesus doesn't tell us to go to Abraham or Moses or Elijah but calls us to come to him alone. Those who COME to him with obedience and humility will have true REST/PEACE/JOY for their souls who are worried and overburdened with laws and regulations, oppression and depression, persecution and exploitation, suffering and death, and Coronavirus Pandemic Covid-19, etc.
The yoke of Jesus is easy and light which is "Well-fitting." This is not a call to lazy or indulgent life with corruption and dehumanization.
Saint Augustine of Hippo rightly experienced and said, "You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it finds its rest in you."
Do we listen to the voice of God and come to learn from Him the virtues of gentleness and humility to find REST OR PEACE OR JOY for our restless souls?
